It is my day to blog.
And remember Gudrun is also blogging today and everyday of the tour.
Remember to leave a comment today to be eligible for prizes - see end of blog.
Gudrun was nice enough to send me a copy of her book.
I love it!
It has many cool projects but the thing I checked out first was the recipes.
Yes I will take food over quilting any day.
I know that sounds bad since I am
selling quilting patterns and fabric and not cookbooks!

I am most intrigued by the Chicken Casserole With Bananas and Coconut Topping.
I know it sounds strange…
but I love all of the ingredients…
just never have tried them all together.
The kids are coming home this weekend, I think I will try it.
I also want to try the Caramelized Potatoes.
Potatoes are one of my favorite foods.
Well maybe it's not the potatoes but the "stuff" you put on the potatoes.
And this recipe has some good "stuff"!
Gudrun used my Lollipop line of fabric
to make her Sassy Blooms tablerunner.
It is very fun.
I just might have to make it for the table at the cabin.
I checked out the instructions and it looks
to be quite quick and easy.
And speaking of instructions. This book has very well written instructions with colored diagrams.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 star rating.
For those of you interested in other patterns using Lollipop, I have pictured the ones that I designed using the fabric.
501 Lollipop
502 Oopsie Daisy
503 Go Fish
Stop back tomorrow when Monique Dillard of Open Gate Quilts will be blogging as well as Gudrun.
Be sure to leave a comment here today to be eligible to win one of three prizes - a copy of Gudrun's book, a box of scarps or a jelly roll from my new line Late Bloomers line which will not be released until November. There will be three winners!
See you tomorrow.
From my heart,
Sandy
I LOVE the couch in the Lollipop Tree photo!!
ReplyDeleteI have a jelly roll of lollipop that I haven't done anything with yet... really should fix that ;)
This is totally a book for me. Like you Sandy, I LOVE cooking and actually have over 300 cookbooks but still buy more. WHY!? I have no idea and my husband just shakes his head and knows good stuff will be on his table soon so he doesn't mind at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm very intrigued with the carmelized potatoes. hmmmm
I am very perplexed however in reading your sidebar for the first time this morning. I've been here many times before and never took the time to read that for some reason. WHY would anyone want to give up Reeses Peanut Butter Cups? I cannot understand that at all. LOL I grinned about your sister being married to your husband's brother. That's so cool. We have a strange thing with our own marriage but you'll have to write me if you want to know that one.
Anyway, your quilts created for the Lollipop fabric line are very nice. My favorite given we have our 2nd grandchid on the way is the "My ABC's". Super cute quilt. I really love the table runner made from that fabric line as well.
thank you for the chance to win this book and other goodies.
Gudrun's book looks great and I like that she added recipes too. A great combination. Thanks for showing some of your awesome patterns. I especially like the Oopsie Daisy and Hopscotch patterns. Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Gudrun's book looks like a winner :) I just happened to crack open my very own Lollipop layer cake and used it for a pillow called Stepping Stones which was a pattern from the Fat Quarterly mag this month. Your materials made the pillow so fun ... I was going to use it as a giveaway on my blog but my girls wouldn't hear of it, so I guess I have to make another :) I posted pictures of it in flickr so if you come across it, I hope you like it! Thank you so much for this chance ... it seems every fabric line I pull from my stash seems to have "Sandy Gervais" attached to it ... that tells me something ;) Love ya!
