Red White and Bang!

Today is my day to be featured on the Riley Blake Designs Virtual Market Facebook page.

A video featuring my Red White and Bang line of fabric will air Thursday, November 11 at 12:00. MST on the Riley Blake Designs Virtual Market Facebook page.

Here is the link to the page group -you must join the group to be able to participate.

And here is a link to the schedule.

This line is based on fond childhood memories of a neighborhood 4th of July picnic.

Every year our neighbors, the Wedebrands, had a 4th of July picnic. We always played croquet, ate watermelon, and ran through sprinklers at this celebration.  The prints in this line of fabric echo those memories.

The BOM sampler quilt using this line of fabric was not quite finished in time for the shooting of the video. It is now finished and ready for your viewing.

The name of the pattern is Summer Sampler.
Riley Blake Designs is offering this as a kit.

The kit comes in this adorable pickup truck box.

This little lunch box is a gift item featured with this line of fabric.
Use it to store your fabrics and supplies...or use it for a lunch box.

Who doesn't like the convenience of a wideback?
Available in 3 colorways.

In the 70's I had a skort made out of fabric very similar to this.
If you are younger than 55 you most likely do not know what a skort is.

A skort is a mix of a skirt and shorts - skort.

Speaking of making things.
Would you like to know how to make these fireworks flowers?

Follow the Blue Bird

Are you following along with Riley Blake Designs famous bluebird, celebrating the launch of Hush Hush, RBD’s very first low-volume designer fabric collection?

From now until the end of the month the RBD designers behind these fabulous low volume prints will be sharing a project featuring one of three piecing techniques (traditional patchwork, foundation paper piecing, and applique).

I choose to do my project, which I have named Fall Ya All, using the traditional patchwork method.

I used all 21 of the Hush Hush prints in my scrappy project.

I have had a long love affair with houses, therefore my print features little houses. I choose to fussy cut the houses so a tiny little house lands in the center of each of the stars in the quilt.

Here are just a few of the houses in my collection.

This house is special as it was made by a friend of ours using the lath from a wall that was removed in our 1890 Victorian Farmhouse.

Make sure to share your bluebird blocks and projects on social media.

With our grandchild total now being four, I thought it was time to do a kids line of fabric.

Adelyn our oldest with her cousin Adrian, our youngest.
She takes her big cousin duties very seriously.

Sullivan is our #2 grandchild and is Adleyn's brother.
He has curls just like his daddy did.

#3 grandchild is Andersen he is Adrian's big brother.
He loves pizza!

When the kids come home we usually spend most of our time at our cabin exploring the creatures that live in and around the lake. I decided to do a line based on these creatures. No, we do not have alligators here in Iowa. We do have a friendly mink that walks around our pier every day. However, I do not find mink to be very cute so I decided to do an alligator instead. Hence the fabric line Later Alligator was created.

The main print.

I made Al a new romper using my favorite print from the line.

I designed 4 new patterns featuring this line of fabric.

#704 Later Alligator.
The wave, alligator scutes, and teeth are dimensional for added fun!

#705 Jacks and Jelly Beans
This quilt uses 2 Charm Pack and 2 Moda Candy

#706 Sail Away  - crib size
A complete alphabet is included.

#706 Sail Away -  twin size

#707 What's your name - boy
This pattern uses two Moda Candy.

#707 What's your name - girl.
This pattern also includes the complete alphabet.

Nuts and Bolts
This will be a PDF pattern for any shop owner purchasing the Later Alligator fabric line.
This is a fat quarter friendly pattern and finishes 54" X 65".
If you purchased the line send me an email I and I will send you the PDF pattern.

Unfortunately, I  will not be able to attend market this year. I will miss seeing all of you!
See you in the spring in Kansas City.
Happy Quilting,
Sandy
