The featured designer today is Carrie Nelson from Miss Rosie's Quilt Company. I don't know what she has designed but all of her designs are great and I am sure it will be nothing short of great. Find her project here.
Today's topic: Favorite gift from a child.
Hmmm it is hard to pick just one.
It seemed that almost every year the kids would make some sort of a Christmas decoration at school. I loved to see the excitement in their faces as they rummaged through their backpack to find that special something. Sometimes it was a bit crumpled, but that just added to the charm of it.
Here are just a few of them.
These were the first two ornaments given to me.
Anthony was in preschool so that makes this ornament about 27 years old.
This is Abby's preschool ornament.
The cutest part does not show.
She "signed" her name on the back.
It was not made in school.
She made this one day while we were crafting side by side.
I love his face. An angel from our little angel.
One year all of the classes in school made spool ornaments.
Abby put a big smile on hers.
Anthony chose to leave his plain.
This all natural one was made by Anthony.
I love all of these ornaments - and also the many that I did not picture.
Every year I hang them on the tree - front and center.
I am looking forward to checking the other designer's blogs to hear all about their special gifts. Follow the links below.

Sandy-- did you see the candy canes Carrie made? Sweet! I can't believe how talented you all are. Thank you for this extremely fun web experience! ~Ksthleen
ReplyDeleteI've had loads of fun blog hopping also!
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet ornaments. Treasures forever, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteLove the kiddo ornaments. I forgot all about those cornhusk ornaments. They were always my favorite to make and receive.
ReplyDeleteLove the kids' ornaments from over the years too. And now we get to add our grandkids' ornaments. Our 5 year old granddaughter just brought Mimi a Thanksgiving "couple" for my bulletin board.
ReplyDeleteWhat goes around comes around.
Sweet ornaments! Thanks for the pictures.

Cute ornaments!
ReplyDeleteGracias por las fotos, adorables testimonios de Navidad.
ReplyDeleteThose ornaments are so precious! It made me realize I don't really have any homemade by my children, and with homeschooling, that is up to me to make sure it gets done! And wouldn't the grandparents treasure them? Hello! :P
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiring me!
I love homemade ornaments. I think of the 'cute' ones that hung on our family tree growing up a lot.
ReplyDeleteChildren's ornaments are priceless!
ReplyDeleteO heavens, those are all so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI remember making spoolie ornaments! But I only made girls; I lvoe the boy one...kind of looks like a karate kid! Hmmm...I think I still have some of those spools leftover.....
ReplyDeleteSo very sweet. I love the things my children have made over the years.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, so sweet. I only have a few ornaments like this since my kids were homeschooled. My favorite is a walnut shell as the 'manger' with baby Jesus lying inside. :D
ReplyDeleteI remember making little ornament people out of red and green yard that you strung through mini rolls of Lifesavers. Then you split the yarn to make arms and legs and they had styrofoam heads. I can even remember going to the store with my mother and picking up the supplies. So exciting...
ReplyDeleteI haven't had any gift from a kid... I love your cute ornaments, I like the idea one of them is 27 years old and you still have it, it's really sweet of you!
ReplyDeleteYour kids' ornaments are adorable, and in such good shape! They are so precious.
