Moda Pillow Talk Day 10

Welcome to day 10 of Moda's Pillow Talk blog hop. Into double digits already.

Today's featured designer is Camille Roskelly.
Do you know what I most covet about Camille?
You might say her wonderful color palette or her simple but striking quilt patterns. I do admire all of those things, but what I want most of Camille's is her flawless skin.
All of those lovely, flawless pictures of her in Moda ads and in her very popular book,
Simplify (#6 on Amazons Best of 2010 list)?
Yep that is all Camille - no need to take the pictures into Photoshop for a little tweaking - the skin is perfect.
Hop on over to her blog to see the pillow she has designed.

For today's subject I wanted to paint a pretty girl with flawless skin wearing a red polka dot dress.
Problem is I did not have much luck achieving pretty.
So instead I have painted a chair that I am sure Camille would like to sit upon.
(In fact I think she has a chair upholstered in this same fabric.)
I have titled today's picture...

Sitting Pretty.

Pillow Talk Day 7

Welcome to day 7 of Moda's Pillow Talk blog hop.

Okay before we get to today's post, I need to clear up a spelling error from yesterday. I was sitting on the COUCH with my tea not on the COACH. This error could have something to do with the fact that my DH was sitting in the car - with the motor running - outside my studio, waiting for me to get my blog posted so we could go to Des Moines for the weekend. Now on with the blog hop.

Today's featured designer is Lynne Hagmeier from Kansas Troubles. I always think of Lynne and her fabric designs as the "little black dress" of Moda.
Like a little black dress - her designs and colors seldom change - but they are always in style.
Hop on over to her blog to see what she has to offer for us today.

Lynn is also known for knowing where a good antique spot can be found. As many of you know I collect children's paint tins. At the last market that I attended Lynne gave me this adorable antique paint tin. I love it because it is red, my favorite color, and it is completely different than any of my other tins.

Like I said Lynne knows all of the good spots.
I am pretty sure it is Mary.
Who had a little lamb.
Who followed her to school one day.

I thought it was such a cute picture that I would use it for the subject of today's painting.
I updated Mary a bit. She now is more the era of what I might have looked like walking to school.
I also put Mary Jane shoes on her. Red ones of course.
I have titled the painting…

Mary Had a Little...Pair of Mary Janes.

I really don’t know why it did not occur to me
as I was buying these little mini canvases
that I probably would also need some mini paint brushes.
It's kind of hard to paint little details with a medium sized brush.
Dah.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see the painting of the day and link up with the talented Kate Spain.

Pillow Talk Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of Moda's Pillow Talk blog hop.

Today's featured designer is Bonnie Olaveson from Cottonway.
Hop on over to her blog and check out what she has designed for you.

At a recent market I was admiring Bonnie's cute shoes with low heels. This led to a discussion about how we can no longer wear the killer high heels that they are showing right now. I love shoes especially pumps. It is sad that all of the cute ones have way too high of heels. The ones that are low tend to look...well
"old lady". So today I thought I would paint a picture of a pair of pumps that I wish I could wear.
I have titled this picture…

Killer Pumps.
Too high for me but not for daughter Abby.
But there is hope.
I strolled through the Nordstrom shoe department
the other day and noticed that they were showing quite a
few lower heels - cute ones - not old lady ones.
I have my eye on a pair of pink ones.
In my next life, I want to design shoes.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see the painting of the day and link up with the talented Joanna from Fig Tree & Co,
