Better Than Santa

I had somebody better than Santa come to my studio.

Who could be better than Santa?
I will give you some hints.
He wears a suit like Santa.
He drives a special vehicle like Santa.
He brings packages like Santa.
He has a broad face and a little round belly, that shakes when he laughs like a bowlful of jelly. Just like Santa
So you ask, how could he be better than Santa.

Instead of a sleigh he drives a brown truck.

Instead of packages with big red bows.
He brings plain brown boxes taped with blue and white tape.

Instead of a red suit he wears a brown suit.
He is our trusty UPS driver and his name is Al.
(Bleach that mustache and he could almost pass for Santa.)
Just like Christmas Morning,
I tore open those packages as quickly as I could.

This is what I found in the packages.
Isn't it lovely?
Well it is Lovely. (The name of the line is Lovely.)
Lovely will be debuting at fall market.

I am off to create quilts and patterns for this lovely line.
Market set-up is in 11 days!
We have 6 quilts to make in 11 days...and nights.
Pray for me.

From my heart,
Sandy

  2. Wow, Al is so nice to you! You must have been a very good girl!

Unless you're planning on turning Italian, I'm pretty sure you spelled your name wrong in your labels for this post! But I guess if I had 6 quilts to make in 11 days, I wouldn't be too worried about how my name was spelled either!

That fabric is gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you create with it. I know it will be Lovely!

  18. Beautifull Lovely fabric! My UPS guys name is Al, too. We like him a lot. He comes to my home and the quilt shop, and when he comes to the shop he says he's bringing us money when we complain about the big boxes!

Sandy, via Moda's site I've stumbled onto your blog. I have been a fan forever! Your blog: layout, user-friendliness, personal bits - are all just delightful. Best of luck with Lovely when it debuts, and Happy Quilting! Thank you for blessing so many with your creativity & inspiration.

  21. I can hear the roar of a UPS "package car" from blocks away. That, and not the driver, makes my heart beat faster. When I was younger it was the driver, but now it is the engine. Kinda sad. Karmen

  26. Hi Sandy, I am SO EXCITED! Fabric.com has Tranquility on sale for $3.95 a yard! Ages ago I made a quilt top - 9 patches on point - using Tranquility charm packs. It came out so nicely I wanted to put a nice backing on it. Now with the sale I was able to buy 6 yards of the Leaves in Bark so I can finally finish my quilt. I am going to keep this one, I like it so much. THANK YOU for such great designs. As the song says, "You make me so - so very happy!"
