Hello and welcome to Day 10 and my day - and Kate Spain's day!
It’s a Beauty of a Book and Social Media Hop: Moda All-Stars All in a Row
There will be Prizes too!
All royalties from this book will be donated to
A charitable organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger.
Today's bloggers are Kate Spain and myself.
Below (in blue type) is the copy written by Jennifer Keltner to introduce the lovely Kate Spain.
Why choose between applique and patchwork when you can do both as the lovely Kate Spain proves wearing her row HE LOVES ME. The devil is in the details on this attention getting row. Kate fussy-cut her flower centers to showcase the part of the prints she wanted most. An interesting side note: as a child, Kate spent lots of time watching movie classics such as My Fair Lady where she believed Eliza DooLittle was singing “The rain, Kate Spain, falls mainly on the airplane.”
for her pageant runway walk - no siree.
Instead she crafted a couture gown
featuring handmade dimensional flowers.
(She is a bit of an overachiever.)
This is Kate's lovely row titled He Loves Me.
And what's not to love about this row of posies.
See more of Kate's great products here.
As you know by now each pair of designers is to redo each other's rows in another look.
I played around computer generating different options.
I LOVE a red and white quilt like the version pictured in the book.
So I did Kate's row in just red and white.
This will fit in nicely with Valentine's, which is right around the corner.
Low volume quilts are all the rage right now.
So I made it out of my current line of fabric Refresh.
Then I thought I would make it using the
original fabrics (from my Block Party line)
that I used in my row for the book.
You can see my row over at Kate's blog.

completely changing the look by changing out the fabrics.

Regular price is $8.50 - on sale today for $6.50
Now for the Prizes.
Which of my mocked up versions of Kate's row do you like best?
Leave a comment in the comment section telling me which version you like best or how you plan to make Kate's row - for real or just in your head.
I will randomly choose 3 winners from the comments.
Prizes are: 3 Moda All Stars All in a Row books
with candy packs to go with.
The special quilt along starts soon so be sure to check both
Moda and Martingale for more information.
On the event that you do not win a book - check your
local quilt shop they probably have it. Two great reasons to buy the book:
1) you’ll know you’ll be supporting a good cause - all royalties go to No Kid
Hungry; and 2) you’ll be ready to join the #allinarowquiltalong in February! See
more rows from the book here: http://www.shopmartingale.com/moda-all-stars-all-in-a-row.html
Kaari Meng and Lynne Hagmeier are tomorrow's bloggers. Stop back tomorrow to read their stories and see the pictures of the day.

Have a Beauty-ful day!

I love the red and white best - especially after seeing what the 'All In a Row' quilt would look like as shown above. Love the spool row you designed with the little pincushion.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing my first low volume quilt so that's the one today! But then, I've always loved 2 color and have made several! Love the options!

ReplyDeletehildy(at)ebertzeder(dot)de
Red and white is great, but I must say all the color and brightness that Party Block has brightens my day, which is especially important during the dog days of winter here in Iowa. Thanks for the chance to win the book and starter fabric, that is exciting!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the colors in the row Kate Spain made, but they are all really lovely. Thanks, Sandy! I'd love to win!
ReplyDeleteOops, no I am not trying to rename your fabric line.....I meant Block Party in my previous post. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteKate's row is fabulous, and I would choose to do it in the low volume pastel prints. It would look so nice in my granddaughter's nursery as a topper on her dresser. soardkgatfusedotnet

ReplyDeleteI like the row done in the Block Party line. Can go anywhere. I'm tired of red and white. I really have like all of the row designs and that is very unusual.
ReplyDeleteOh, it has to be the red and white version. At first I thought I was going to say the version made out of your Block Party line, but that red and white really pops!
