Busy, Busy and Busy

I am sorry I have been neglecting my blogging lately. It is just that I have been busy.
I had to write the Lovely pattern instructions. A tedious job. Then the instructions had to be proofed. An even more tedious job. The patterns then had to be bagged and shipped out to the stores. Yes, Lovely and the Lovely patterns will be arriving at a quilt shop near you very soon.

I have been busy designing a new line of fabric.
Just a few snippets of the panel.
It is named Late Bloomers.

We received this in the mail so we had to get busy making the Grand Finale samples.
The seamstresses love it when we get the cuts...makes their life so much easier.

Charm Pack quilt is pieced and ready to be quilted.

Doing some applique for the Layer Cake quilt.

More applique...but this applique is done!

Two more borders to go on the panel quilt
before it is ready for the quilter.
I love this panel.
It reminds me of the last beautiful days of fall.

Oh how I am missing those days right about now.
Very cold here this week.
So cold that the snow squeaks when you walk on it.
You people from down south... have no idea what I am talking about.
Those of you from up north... totally get it.

I did take time to eat one of these.
My favorite combination...chocolate and strawberry.
Yummy!

I also have been busy drawing, painting and playing with colors.
I love my job!

Quilt labels?? Post-it notes???? Note cards???
What would you like to see them become?

Playing with new colors and pattern.

I took a day to create a picture for a big blank wall at the cabin.
It has a hidden message in the type.
(Not that anyone has ever broken that rule.)
As you can see I have been pretty busy - too busy to blog.

To make up for my blogging absence I will be have a
10% Busy Discount Sale for online retail customers.
Go to my website to place your order.
Type busy in the code box to receive your discount.

*NOTE: If you are a registered customer you will have to be LOGGED IN in order for the coupon code to work. If you are not a registered customer, simply register and log in, then the coupon code will work.
(Just another glitch in the system) :-(

The sale starts right now and will run through the weekend.
But I have more.
Yes more kissing up.

All orders taken during the sale will be eligible
for a drawing to win a fat quarter bundle of Giddy.
(Vintage button pin not included)

Sale items will not qualify for the discount. However, if you order just a sale item you will not get the discount but you will still be eligible for the drawing. Please DO NOT order 5 patterns in 5 different orders thinking that your name will be in the drawing more times. Each customer will only be entered once in the drawing no matter how many orders you place.

I also would like to give you a heads up on a future blog hop I will be participating in during the month of February.

I will be joining my fellow Moda designers for a blog hop featuring pillows.
We all will be designing a pillow that will describe each of us.

I have not a clue what that will be. ????
The Hop starts February 1st.
More news - One of my fellow Moda Designers Deb Strain has joined blogland.
Go here to see what is happening in Deb's world.

Enjoy the Too Busy Sale.
From my heart,
Sandy

  5. Your new fabric lines are, as always, wonderful! I think you should turn the cards that you made into quilt labels. They are so fun and it would be nice to have a label that matched the fabric in the quilt. Since Moda has the Bake Shop metaphore going with their pre-cuts, the quilt labels could be like the ingredients sticker that is put on food items. The ingredients on the quilt label could be things like 'Made with Love' from: xxxx to: xxx.

  11. You just keep staying busy Sandy! Everything you turn out is fabulous!

What would I like to see those little things become? That's easy. Mine! Whatever they become will be great. I am partial to notecards because I still love to send hand written notes to friends and relatives, but post-its or labels would be great too!

The blog hop sounds like fun. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Thanks for the link to Deb's site...I'm using her Sent With Love right now for a postage stamp quilt and I just love it.

Now get back to work! ;)

  21. Hi Sandy,

I LOVE THE NEW COLORS, the deep red and pink:) I also LOVE that panel, it is so precise, almost like a medieval illumination.

Have you seen that Kate Spain has plates at Crate and Barrel from some of the designs from her Fandango line? I would LOVE to see your designs on hard goods like plates, or maybe on pieces of furniture. Paper is beautiful, but not so durable. Imagine a table set with a table cloth, napkins, plates, the handles of the silverware, and the backs of the chairs all with a coordinating snippet of the flower panel. Maybe this is just a dream, but it is what I would love to see.
