When I went to do a pre-post about the hop I was embarrassed to see that the last time I posted was way back on March 4th which was the last Moda Blog Hop. Good thing there are blog hops or you would never hear from me.
What have I been doing since last March 4th? All I can say is life's happenings and deadlines get in the way of blogging. Tomorrow I will do a quick wrap up of the last 6 months.
But enough about me not blogging - on to what this hop is all about.
Size matters.
When does size matter?
When you are shoe shopping and none of the cute 75 percent off sale shoes are in your size.
For the Moda Size Matters Schoolhouse we were to create a finished 18" block using various sizes of our block. (12", 6" and 3".)
My block is Railroad Crossing Variation.
I created a simple little table mat by making four 6" blocks, eight 3" blocks and adding eight 1 1/2" X 6 1/2" rail fence pieces and a 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" center piece.
I also designed a quilt using my block in a different size format - 12", 8", and 4".
This is a single sheet pattern - it does not have an envelope - just a colored instruction sheet. Click here to order this pattern.

The fabric featured in these projects is Soho Chic. This fabric debuted at Spring Market in Portland and will be shipping Nov. 1st.
The patterns for this collection are up on our website and ready for shipping.
Check them out below.
Be sure to hop on over to the blogs of Jan Patek, and Pat Sloan to see what they have done with their blocks.

Stop by their blogs to see why size matters to each of them.
And don’t forget to swing back by here to catch up on the last 6 months.

ReplyDeleteI love your block and all of your new patterns, especially the Rolling Meadows pattern....Just lovely! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love the color palette of your new line - just beautiful!! And your table mat is so creative - love the combo of the different sized blocks in one project! Thanks for sharing and for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat block, I love the mat sized one. And lovely fabric too. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI really like your block, it has a nice airy look, :). Thanks for all of the pattern looks, they're all so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors!
ReplyDeleteLove this line, Sandy, the colors are so vibrant! I especially love the sampler pattern, that center is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI want to make this block. Seems I am always busy and short on time so the small block would be great for a table mat. Love the colors of your new line, Soho Chic. Thanks for a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful block Sandy and I love all the patterns! Good for you. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric is lovely. I have to say as I have child size feet I always come out on top during shoe sales, my size is always the only one left (other then the larger antithesis)when they are down to 80 % off because they are desperate to get rid of them. Xx
ReplyDeleteI love this size matters. Really love this block!
ReplyDeleteI so agree! It's a pain when you have the same size foot as everyone else and all the cute sale shoes are gone!
ReplyDeleteLove your block!
ReplyDeleteGreat block!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt done with all the size variations of the block. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteReally enjoyed your blog and love your block!
ReplyDeleteThat Soho Sampler is gorgeous!

Love the street flowers
ReplyDeleteLove this block! So fun!
ReplyDeleteGee, why is it those cute clearance shoes are never in my size?? :-)
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle when you mentioned shoes. I was always a size 5 till after i had kids and went to a 7 which i am told is an average size so I will never find nice shoes on sale in my size and they were right. when this questioned was presented i only thought in terms of quilting and its realm. thanks for the chance to win as always enjoy your artistic creativeness
ReplyDeleteNew fabric line is beautiful! Love the block also!
ReplyDeleteLove your project! Amazing how using the same block in different sizes can be so eye catching!

Very nice fabrics and blocks.
ReplyDeleteI loved your reference to size matters with sale shoes. I frequently shop shoe sales with my mother. I wear size 8 and she wears size 6. She almost always comes home a winner because no one has small feet like hers anymore. Me? Loser with average sized feet! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteLove your Sandy's Solids!
