Home Sweet Home

After 3 weeks and 1 day in the hospital

my mother was able to go home.
We are thankful - I am not sure she could have stood another day.

I ask - why do they make hospital rooms such depressing colors?
Her room was a cool gray on the bottom with a gray and mauve print on the top.
I myself found it depressing, just the short amount of time I spent in the room.
On Sunday I took her one of my Fresh Squeezed quilts.

I must say it did help to brighten up the room.

  1. happy homecoming to your mom. That's a long time to be away from the comforts of one's home. I hope she will feel better and stronger each day - and that all of you get well-deserved rest!

  6. Geez, I got distracted there. I'm so glad she's home. It's so hard as our parents get older...I'm glad you could give her a little comfort and color during those long, long days.

Please let her know she's been on my prayer list.

  9. Happy to hear your mom got to come home, healing in your own place makes a difference.

Your taking that quilt to the hospital really strikes a note that not only the people who receive quilts for comfort are in need but the spaces people are in need comfort and cheer as well. I need to put myself into that somehow.

  13. Hi
Tell Bruce I think of him each and every day!! He was showing me some scissors he purchased when we were at market - and how much he liked them - he then directed me to the booth where I also purchased. I am nuts about them, they are great - so thanks to Bruce.
    Be seeing you

  14. I'm so glad your mom is home. She's still in my prayers. I took one of my quilts to the hospital with me when I had colon surgery. It helped the 9 days go by a little better.

  17. I am glad your mom is home...and you are so right, the hospital gray is depressing. Why do they do that, we as staff hate it too!! Still praying for your mom and you too. Hugs.

  18. I know of what you speak. Most hospital rooms were decorated in 1979 or 1982. Mauve is no longer an option. Glad your Mom is home and recovering. Your fresh squeezed quilt must have done the trick-it's so refreshing! Sherry
